The natural warmth of wood, the durability of stone
Wood has been used as cladding on buildings for thousands of years, but traditional wooden facades require significant maintenance and have a limited lifespan. Repair, replacement or demolition can also be costly over time. Stone, on the other hand, is highly durable but often lacks the natural warmth and character of wood. With Rockpanel Woods, this warmth is now achievable thanks to an innovative production process. Our cladding is almost indistinguishable from real wood yet offer the durability and longevity of stone – truly the best of both worlds.
Material and application
Rockpanel Woods are made from compressed stone wool derived from abundant, natural volcanic rock, basalt, combined with a small amount of organic binder. This gives all Rockpanel their unique properties. They combine the strength and durability of stone with the ease of working associated with wood. Our cladding is suitable for facade cladding, roofing applications and architectural detailing.
